Drawing is a means of communicating your ideas and sharing your observations. Whether you are a professional artist or a beginner, life drawing is like exercise for your eyes, and everyone can benefit from it.

Spread over two days we will have a single pose, giving you the chance to really get stuck into a lovely long drawing. Each day will begin with some quick loosening up exercises, then it will be straight into the pose, which you can tackle in whatever way you please, evolving and revisiting one drawing (or painting) over two days, or tackling several if you prefer. Drawing materials are provided and paper is sold at cost, but feel free to bring paints, or a canvas if you’d like to. You can book for one or both days.

We will break for tea and biscuits throughout the day and have a one hour lunch break. Please bring lunch, or alternatively Savages Farm Shop and Cafe is just across the road.

Materials

So you are free to experiment I provide basic materials for you to help yourself to. Including charcoal, conté, pastels, ink, wash, white paint, pencils, rubbers, brushes and so on. There are boards, easels and donkeys for you to use. As well as masking tape, clips, jam jars and dishes (which make great paint pallets). Newsprint and cartridge papers can be purchased at cost (just pop some coins in the tin).
